The RPM 1 Carbon is the repository of some of the technical innovations that have made Pro-Ject 's turntables famous, especially the top models in the RPM range, and is based on a radical design that seeks to preserve the emotion of the music while maintaining its status as a democratic product. Among these innovations, the use of a low-resonance chassis housing a newly designed ceramic-bearing inverted axle that further reduces the play of the whole. In addition, a 15 V AC synchronous motor driven by an ultra-precise AC generator with a DC power supply significantly improves rotational stability. The third noteworthy element of the RPM 1 Carbon is precisely the use of an S-shaped arm made of a combination of carbon fibre, aluminium and resin which guarantees full compatibility even with particularly demanding moving coil capsules. As for the platter itself, it is made of high-density MDF specially treated to minimise structural resonances. A quality prodigy at the best price.
