Pro-Ject The Classic Evo SP

The new Classic Evo is based on the successful EISA Award winner The Classic and the experience gained from designing and building the iconic 175 VPO turntable. The main improvement is the sub-platter, where they use the experience they gained from designing the Vienna Philharmonic record player to add key changes to the Classic Evo, adding performance features rarely seen in this price category. For greater convenience, an electronic speed change was incorporated, allowing you to change from 33 to 45 rpm (and vice versa) with the push of a button. Compared to the old The Classic, they improve the subframe; making it heavier and more rigid to reduce resonances. The goal is to isolate the platter and tonearm from motor and main socket resonances. The heavy aluminum main platter construction uses advanced thermoplastic elastomers (TPE*) to optimize resonance behavior. The diamond-cut precision aluminum subplate, as on the limited edition Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer, allows for much better tolerances. This extraordinarily sophisticated part is precision machined and guarantees very good isolation between the noise of the bearing and the chainring itself.
