A genuinely McIntosh aesthetic presided over by two of the American brand's emblematic treated glass panels constitutes the prelude to the MT5, an exclusive “plug & play” turntable of true reference. “Plug & play” because it is supplied as standard with the support force, the anti-slip force and the position of the pickup cartridge carefully adjusted at the factory, thus minimizing the configuration work to be carried out by the user.
As far as engineering is concerned, it should first be noted that the base of the MT5 is made up of a stainless steel structure that provides a vibration-free foundation for the reading arm. For its part, an opulent methacrylate plate rotates around an air cushion thanks to a sophisticated magnetic suspension system, while its traction – by belt – is ensured by an ultra-silent direct current motor.
The MT5 also features a new -33, 45 electronic spindle speed control and the McIntosh , which supports spindle speeds of 33, 45 and 78 rpm, is complete with a custom-made high-rigidity tone arm and cartridge. High output moving coil (MC) with ebony body and elliptical needle.
