Voted "Best Turntable of 2024-2025" by the prestigious Expert Imaging and Sound Association, better known by its acronym EISA, and integrated, as its name suggests, into the "X Line" at Pro-Ject, the XA B combines audiophile-grade performance, unique aesthetics and affordability.
A transparent methacrylate chassis gives this vinyl player an unquestionable appeal, to the point of giving the impression that the technical components of the set seem to float on an almost invisible base.
What comes next is an opulent cast aluminium platter weighing 1.7 kg, precision-balanced to maximise rotational stability and, as always at Pro-Ject, a 254 mm high quality reading arm entirely designed and manufactured in-house by the Austrian brand.
The icing on the cake is a repertoire of adjustments that allow the user to act not only on the vertical tracking angle (VTA) and an innovative anti-skating scheme that adapts to the position of the groove, but also on the azimuth, thus allowing full use to be made of the possibilities of the capsule used.
Finally, a fundamental aspect of this turntable should be highlighted: the addition of balanced connectivity, topped off in this case by the incorporation (and factory setting) of the Pick it PRO Balanced, a moving magnet capsule specifically conceived by Pro-Ject to get the most out of it.
